Activities:
Our daily in classes offer something for everyone. Whether you wish to learn Tai Chi on the beach, go to a Yoga class before breakfast or learn the ancient art of Kung Fu, Five Elements provides authentic tuition from Chinese masters and highly skilled instructors. Our classes take a holistic approach where as well as learning the physical movements of the art, our guests are taught to understand and apreciate the inner and spiritual forces at work whilst they are practicing. This understanding allows for greater effectiveness.
Yoga:
Our Ashtanga Yoga instructor will take you from the very basics of yoga through to advanced, dynamic postures that will leave you feeling refreshed and invigourated mentally and physically. Yoga is suitable for men and women of all ages and of all fitness levels.
Tai chi
- Our Chinese masters have been practicing Tai chi since childhood and will quickly develop your skills and understanding of this graceful martial art. Tai Chi concentrates on developing inner strength and stability and harmonising the body's movements, breathing and electrical energy (chi) to promote health. This art has been practiced in China for thousands of years and is suitable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels
Kung Fu
- 1970's Kung Fu movies are amazing. FACT! If you want an energetic work out whilst learning self defense, our Shaolin masters are here to help. Kung Fu takes many forms, our area of focus is in traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, the oldest martial art in the world. Our guests will learn traditional movements and applications that are designed with self defense and control in mind. Once comfortable with the basics our guests can choose to learn Animal fist forms, basic weapons forms and also body conditioning. Kung Fu is a very active class and a reasonable level of fitness is preferred. There is also a small amount of contact in this class, but this should not put anyone off from trying!
Chi Kung (Qigong)
- Chi Kung is often referred to as Chinese meditation. It is a method of energy cultivation and as well as being a powerful way to relax and eliminate stress, it is a very good way of improving health. Our Chinese masters will teach you all you need to know to practice Chi Kung wherever and whenever you may be. Chi Kung is suitable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels.
Muay Thai
Thailands national sport is Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) . At Five Elements we give introductions to Muay Thai, technique training and light sparring lessons. Our focus with Muay Thai is to promote fitness, co ordination and self confidence. our focus is not to train fighters for competitve Muay Thai.
Massage
Massage is a vital part of any physical recovery process. Allowing muscles to relax and the body to be correctly aligned gives us increased energy, less aches and pains and a feeling of general realxation and well being. As well as giving massages, we also give lessons in massage for individuals and or couples.
Detox
Detox is a very common buzz word nowadays and can take many forms. We offer a range of detox therapies from fasting, to food matching and acupressure. however all of our detox programmes are tailored to our clients. This simply allows you to have the holiday that you want whilst taking care of your body. We consider how active you wish to be whilst on holiday, what your goals for wellness are, what we can change about your diet to better harmonise your body and basically try and make our detox as effective as possible whilst not taking away anything from your holiday!
